A press release confirmed that the manga written and illustrated by Afro , “ Mono ,” will be adapted into an anime. The statement revealed a promotional video and details of the production team, but did not offer details about the voice cast. Also included was a message from Afro, who is also the author of “ Yuru Camp ”:

  • « Thank you for the anime adaptation of MONO! Yuru Camp, which I am serializing, can be explained in one word as “a story about going camping”, but MONO is set in Yamanashi and does so many different things, such as playing with an action camera, shooting horror movies, going to buy ham, visit a winery and participate in a gluttony challenge, which cannot be explained in a word. It is impossible to explain it in a few words. So please watch the anime to find out what the story is about! ».

Afro began publishing the manga through Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine in March 2017, where it is still in publication. Afro is also the author of the popular manga “ Yuru Camp ,” which has inspired multiple anime adaptations.
