A recent
leak assured that the anime adaptation of the manga written by Kenji
Inoue and illustrated by Kimitake Yoshioka , “ Grand Blue ”, will
have a second season. The information is pending official confirmation,
but it comes from a source that is extremely reliable for us and
has never failed in the past.
If
confirmed, this second season would arrive after more than six years
since the first was broadcast , and more than four years since the
live-action film was produced.
For their
part, Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka began
publishing the manga through the magazine Good! Afternoon from
the publisher Kodansha in
April 2014, where it still continues in serialization despite constant
suspensions due to the writer's unstable health. An anime adaptation of twelve
episodes was broadcast during the Summer-2018 season (July-September) ,
under the production of Zero-G studios .
Sinopsis
of Grand Blue
Iori
Kitahara moves to the coastal city of Izu for his first year at university and
settles in at Grand Blue, his uncle's diving shop. Iori has high hopes and
dreams of having the ideal college experience, but when he enters the store he
finds himself absorbed by the alcoholic activities of the carefree Diving Club
members who frequent the store. Persuaded by upperclassmen Shinji Tokita and
Ryuujirou Kotobuki, Iori reluctantly joins their strange party.
His
cousin Chisa Kotegawa later walks in and catches him red-handed, earning Iori
her complete contempt. Based on the popular comic manga by Kenji Inoue and
Kimitake Yoshioka, Grand Blue follows Iori's misadventures with her eccentric
new friends as she strives to realize her ideal college dream while also
learning to scuba dive.
