An official
from the Legal Affairs Office in Kyoto has been sent to trial for alleged aggression
towards one of his subordinates, according to sources related to the
case. The man , who held the position of general registrar at
the Kyoto Property Registration Office, was allegedly charged with
assault after a spoiler for “ Oshi no Ko ” was
revealed during a casual conversation.
The incident
occurred on May 1 at the Uji branch of the Kyoto Property Registration Office,
where the accused and his subordinate, both in their 50s, were having a casual
chat. According to sources, during the conversation, the subordinate
mentioned details about the development of the plot of “Oshi no Ko,” which
provoked the anger of the accused, who expressed his displeasure at receiving
spoilers. In a fit of rage, he allegedly grabbed the neck of his
subordinate and kicked her in the abdominal region.
Fortunately,
the subordinate did not suffer serious injuries as a result of the incident. However, the local police
received a complaint from the affected subordinate, which led to an
investigation by the authorities.
On the other
hand, “Oshi no Ko” is a popular manga series written by Aka Akasaka and
illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. Since its inception in April 2020 in
Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine, the series has gained a considerable fan
base and has been praised for its unique plot and endearing characters.
The series
follows the lives of two twin brothers, who are the reincarnation of a doctor
and his deceased patient, and their path in the Japanese entertainment industry
as the children of a famous idol. The anime adaptation of the series
has been equally successful, with a first season airing from April to June 2023
and a second season scheduled to premiere in July 2024.
This
incident leads us to reflect on the importance of respect in the workplace and
the need to manage emotions appropriately, even in frustrating
situations. While it's understandable to be upset by spoilers, violence
is never the appropriate response. In a world where entertainment is
an integral part of our lives, it is essential to remember that passion does
not justify disrespectful or aggressive behavior towards others.
