In the most recent edition of the digital magazine License Global , the production of an anime adaptation for the manga written and illustrated by Yuuto Suzuki , “ Sakamoto Days ”, was listed , whose premiere is scheduled for this year through the Netflix global catalog.

It should be noted that although this information comes from an official media, the adaptation has not been officially announced by either Netflix or Shueisha but, considering that the release window is this year, it is possible that the official announcement will come very soon. It is worth noting that this is not the first time that an anime adaptation for this work has been mentioned, since the first "reliable" leak in this regard emerged in August 2022.

For his part, Yuuto Suzuki began publishing the manga through Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in November 2020 and it is still in serialization. Suzuki is also the author of other one-shot works such as “ Locker Room ” and “ Garaku .” In fact, “ Sakamoto Days ” comes from a one-shot that he published in 2019, making it his first serialized manga of his.

Synopsis of Sakamoto Days

Tarou Sakamoto was considered the best hitman of all time. Feared by many, he was at the top of the underground world until he met and fell in love with a woman. As a result, Sakamoto abandoned his life of crime and now works as a store clerk. Leaving his shady past behind turns out to be more difficult than Sakamoto originally imagined. Many of his former rivals and associates do not believe he has really left the business and show up hoping to put an end to him. With the ban on killing, Sakamoto must find creative ways to subdue his enemies and prevent them from harming his family, his store, and the small town in which he resides.
