During the “5th Overlap Bunko All-Star Roundup
Special” online event, a promotional teaser was unveiled announcing the anime
adaptation of Yomu Mishima’s I'm the Evil Lord of an
Intergalactic Empire! ( Ore wa Seikan
Kokka no Akutoku Ryoushu! ) light novel series ,
which will premiere in April 2025. The anime will air on the “Animazing” block
on ABC TV, TV Asahi , and 22 other networks in Japan.
The first promotional image for the anime was also
released.

The series follows the story of Liam, a man who in his
previous life was moral and responsible, but ended up betrayed by his wife and
deeply in debt. After her death, he is reborn into a noble family that rules a
vast interstellar empire. Determined to live selfishly this time, Liam attempts
to become a tyrant, but his actions end up bringing peace and prosperity to the
empire, which only increases his popularity.
The novels began serialization on the Shosetsuka ni
Nar o website in August 2018. Overlap has
published the print version with illustrations by Nadare Takamine since July
2020, with nine volumes to date. The manga adaptation, directed by Nadare
Takamine, has so far released seven volumes, with the next one scheduled for
release on October 25, 2024. Additionally, there is a spin-off titled I'm
the Heroic Knight of an Intergalactic Empire! , which has been
published up to volume 3, and its manga version has two volumes.
