Kashiwada and Oota: The Romantic Comedy Will Premiere in October

0

This Friday it was confirmed that the anime adaptation of the manga "Expressionless Kashiwada and Expressive Oota" (Kao ni Denai Kashiwada-san to Kao ni Deru Ōta-kun) by Fuyu Azuma will have its television premiere in October 2024. The announcement came through the project's official website, accompanied by new images of the first episode.

Prior to its arrival on Japanese television, the anime will have its exclusive world premiere during Anime Expo 2024, at NBCUniversal Japan's event titled "WORLD PREMIERE: Inexpressive Kashiwada and Expressive Oota Industry and Screening Panel." The appointment will be on Wednesday, July 3 at 9:00 p.m. (Spanish time).

The production is in charge of STUDIO POLON, under the direction of Tomohiro Kamitani (MIX Season 2). Michiko Yokote (ShirobakoPrison School) is in charge of the series composition, while Naoto Nakamura (A Certain Magical Index II) leads character design and animation.

A school romance full of contrasts

The story revolves around Kashiwada, a high school girl who never shows emotion, and Ōta, her classmate, whose face gives him away at all times. As he tries to make her laugh with constant jokes, she watches silently, enjoying his emotional sincerity. What seems like a one-sided relationship is actually a sweet romantic comedy that her classmates love as well.

A manga with new life

The original manga was published on Kadokawa's Dra Dra Sharp# from July 2018 until its finale in July 2023, completing 10 compilation volumes. In May 2024, Kadokawa released a new installment titled Kao ni Denai Kashiwada-san to Kao ni Deru Ōta-kun+, which continues to expand this endearing universe.
