The
official website of the My Dress-Up Darling (Sono Bisque
Doll wa Koi wo Suru) anime revealed on Sunday a new main trailer,
as well as the official visual for its long-awaited second
season. In addition, two new characters were announced who will join the
story.
The two new
cast members are:
- Ayumu
Murase as Amane Himeno
- Shōhei Komatsu as Shiki
Kashiwagi
Both
characters appear briefly in the new trailer, raising anticipation about their
impact on the dynamic between Wakana Gojō and Marin
Kitagawa.
Musical
themes by Spira Spica and PiKi
The trailer
also features this season's new theme music. The opening theme will
be "Ao to Kirameki" performed by Spira Spica,
while the closing will be in charge of PiKi with the
song "Kawaii Kaiwai".
Release date and broadcast platforms
The second
season of My Dress-Up Darling will premiere on July 6
at 5:00 p.m. (Spanish time) on the Japanese channels Tokyo MX, BS11, Tochigi
TV and Gunma TV. Crunchyroll will stream
the series simultaneously around the world.
The anime
originally debuted in January 2022 with 12 episodes, quickly
earning a place in the hearts of fans. In addition to the anime, the franchise
also has a live-action series that premiered in October
2024 in Japan.
A story
about hidden passions and acceptance
The story
revolves around Wakana Gojō, a student who lives in the shadow of a
painful past and who spends his time making traditional dolls. His life changes
when Marin Kitagawa, a popular girl and cosplay lover, discovers
his talent and invites him to collaborate with her personal projects. Thus
begins a unique relationship marked by mutual respect and the discovery of
shared passions.
The manga,
created by Shinichi Fukuda, has been published since January
2018 in Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine. The
series entered its "Tenmei" arc in September 2023,
and officially concluded on March 21, 2025. However, an additional
chapter and an epilogue are still expected. Volume 15 will be released in Japan
on July 25, while volume 14 will arrive in English on October
21.
