The trailer also revealed the film's theme song, titled "IRIS OUT," performed by Kenshi Yonezu, who returns after his previous collaboration with the franchise.

Sony Pictures Entertainment will handle worldwide theatrical distribution. The story: an unexpected encounter

The film will focus on Denji, who is now part of Special Division 4 as the Chainsaw Man. After a date with Makima, Denji takes shelter from the rain and meets Reze, a mysterious girl who works in a coffee shop. What begins as a chance encounter will trigger a story full of action, secrets and pain.

A luxury technical team

The production of the feature film is once again in charge of MAPPA, with Tatsuya Yoshihara directing. The script is written by Hiroshi Seko, while Kazutaka Sugiyama returns as character designer. The music will be composed by Kensuke Ushio, who is also responsible for the soundtrack of the television anime.

The confirmed cast includes Reina Ueda as the voice of Reze.

A franchise that does not stop growing

Chainsaw Man debuted as a manga in December 2018 and quickly became a phenomenon. Its first anime premiered in October 2022 through TV Tokyo and Amazon Prime Video, and is available in more than 200 countries thanks to Crunchyroll.

The series currently has two parts: the Public Safety Arc (completed in 2020) and the School Arc, which has been published since July 2022 on the Shonen Jump+ platform. The manga has been awarded Best Manga at the Harvey Awards for three consecutive years.

In addition, the franchise was adapted into a play in Tokyo and Kyoto between September and October 2023, consolidating its presence beyond manga and anime.
