The
official website of the Summer Pockets anime, based on
Visual Arts/Key's visual novel, revealed its sixth
promotional video on Monday, focusing on the enigmatic Shiroha
Naruse, who is played by voice actress Konomi Kohara. Her story
will begin in episode 15, which will air on Monday, July 21
at 5:00 p.m. (Spain time).
New
promotional image and film premiere
In addition
to the video, a new official illustration dedicated to Shiroha
was also published last Friday, accompanied by the message "We are in the
middle of summer". This image is part of the promotional material for the
long-awaited heroine arc.
The anime,
produced by the Key studio, premiered on April 7 on Tokyo
MX and BS11, followed by other networks such as MBS, SBS, AT-X,
and TV Setouchi. Crunchyroll streams the series
simultaneously with Japan. It has been confirmed that the anime will feature
a compilation film that will be screened in theaters in Japan
starting on August 15.
A summer
story full of nostalgia
The
original Summer Pockets game was released in June 2018 for
PC in Japan. It subsequently received versions for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation
4, plus an extended edition titled Summer Pockets REFLECTION
BLUE, released in 2020. The story takes place on a remote island,
in the middle of a nostalgic summer where memories, emotions and bonds between
the characters play a central role.
A luxury
creative team
The
original concept was developed by Jun Maeda (Clannad, Angel
Beats!), accompanied by artists such as Na-Ga, Tsubasu
Izumi and Fumuyun. The screenplay was written by Yū
Niijima, KAI, and Hasama. The music, as usual in
Key's productions, was in charge of Jun Maeda, Shinji Orito, Donmaru and Tomohiro
Takeshita.
The
universe expands with new manga
The
franchise has also spawned several manga adaptations. Among them is Summer
Pockets -Natsu no Takaramono-, released on the Tonari no Young
Jump site on May 30. In addition, a spin-off titled Summer
Pockets Mugyu Days ~Tsumugi no Shima Sanpo~ has been published
since February 28 on Dengeki Moeoh and
the KadoComi portal. The latter features illustrations
by Yūnon Nagayama, one of the original artists of the game.
