The most recent issue of Neko Tome magazine, scheduled to come out on August 16 in Japan, has revealed on its cover a piece of news that cat and science fiction lovers will love: the manga "2200-Nen Neko no Kuni Nippon", the work of Rite Nekoha, will have an anime adaptation for television.
A future
dominated by cats
First
published in 2020, this four-panel manga transports us to the
year 2200, when the human birth rate has dropped dramatically and
Japan has been colonized—literally—by cats. In this feline version of the
country, cats not only talk and think, but also work and
study as if they were humans.
The story
follows the day-to-day life of a high school student who lives
with a rather argumentative cat, giving rise to situations as comical as they
are endearing.
A work
that has grown over time
Nekoha's
work debuted in the pages of Neko Tomo in 2020 and quickly
captured the public's attention. Its first compilation volume was released
in June 2020, while the second volume arrived
in December 2024. The announcement of its anime adaptation further
cements the popularity of this curious vision of the future.
Expectations
for adaptation
Although
details about the commissioned studio, voice cast, or exact release date have
not yet been revealed, the announcement has already generated excitement among
manga fans and fans of feline stories. Undoubtedly, "2200-Nen Neko
no Kuni Nippon" promises to be a different proposal in the
current anime offering.
Are you
ready to experience a world where cats have taken over... in the most adorable
way possible? We hope so because it comes with everything!
