The
official website of the Kingdom anime, based on the manga
by Yasuhisa Hara, confirmed that the sixth season will
premiere on October 4 at 5:10 p.m. (Spain) on NHK
General. The production also unveiled a new promotional image and announced
five additions to the cast, who will play members of Qin's army:

Matsumoto as Mako
- Shinnosuke
Tachibana as Akakin
- Yoshino
Nanjō as Kitari
- Masaaki
Mizunaka as Katari
Previously,
the participation of Shō Komura (Sojin), Daichi
Hayashi (Sotan) and Yuu Hayashi (Kanto) had been
announced.
Creative
team and musical themes
Kenichi
Imaizumi returns
as director, Noboru Takagi in script, and Hisashi Abe in
character design, with animation by Pierrot and St.
Signpost. The music will again be composed by Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta
Yamamoto. The opening theme, "Ikite, Sansan" (Live,
Brilliantly), will be performed by Ikimono-gakari, while the
closing theme, "Hōkō" (Roar), will be
performed by Sora Tomonari.
In this
installment, the long-awaited battle between Qin and Zhao will
begin. The protagonist, Xin, will take Wang Yi's spear to lead the
charge on the battlefield.
A review
of the animated saga
The fifth
season aired in January 2024 with a total of 13 episodes, broadcast on Crunchyroll internationally.
Since its debut in 2012, the anime has featured multiple installments and
pauses, including a delay during the third season due to the pandemic.
The
original manga, published since 2006 in Weekly Young Jump, tells
the story of Xin, a young slave who dreams of becoming a great
general of the state of Qin and helping King Ying Zheng in his
goal of unifying China.
