Lonely Deaths' tenth compilation volume Lie Thick as Snow (Furitsumore Kodokuna Shi yo), created by Hajime Inoryū and Shōta Itō, confirmed that the story will enter its final arc with the release of its eleventh volume, scheduled for winter 2025 in Japan.

International Publication

Kodansha USA Publishing announced that it will publish the first volume in English during the spring of 2026, thus expanding the arrival of this title to new readers outside of Japan.

A macabre case that marks the beginning of everything

The plot follows Jin Saeki, a young detective with an arrogant character who, after going to a break-in notice in an empty mansion, discovers a Dantesque scene: the corpses of 13 children and a strange symbol in the place. This discovery triggers a frantic search for Juzo Haikawa, the enigmatic owner of the house, dragging Jin into an investigation that will take him all over Japan and confront him with the shadows of the past and the darkest of the human soul.

From manga to screen

The work began publishing on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket app in August 2021, and its first compilation volume came out in November of the same year. Its popularity was such that it inspired a live-action series, released in July 2024.

The legacy of its authors

Prior to this work, Inoryū and Itō had already worked together on the manga My Dearest Self with Malice Aforethought (Shinainaru Boku e Satsui o Komete), serialized in Young Magazine between 2018 and 2019, and later in Comic Days until 2020. This title reached more than 1.2 million copies in circulation and also has digital publication in English by Kodansha USA.
