Horimiya's name is still very much alive
in the memory of manga readers, but its artist, Daisuke Hagiwara,
is now ready to take the next step. Square Enix confirmed that the mangaka will
premiere a new series on October 10 in Shonen Gangan magazine
(issue #11/2025), and we already have the first visual of this long-awaited
project.
A new
beginning for the author
Although
neither the title nor the plot of the work have yet been revealed, the truth is
that expectations are very high. After Horimiya established
itself as one of the most beloved romantic comedies of the last decade, fans
are eager to see if Hagiwara will bet on student romance again or surprise with
a totally different genre.
First
visual revealed
The
magazine shared a first look that shows the protagonists in a fresh style, but
with that characteristic stamp of the author that mixes tenderness and
dynamism. For now, the details are being kept secret, with the promise that
more official information will be available in the coming weeks.
Horimiya's
legacy
It's worth
remembering that Horimiya became a real phenomenon, with more
than 10 million copies in circulation, a 13-episode anime released in 2021, and
spin-off projects that expanded the story of Kyoko Hori and Izumi Miyamura.
With that record, the bar is very high, but Hagiwara seems ready to win over
her followers again.
