Publisher Suiseisha confirmed that the manga Ichigo Aika: Zatsu by Namaiki na Imōto to Warikirenai Ani, written by Hirafumi and illustrated by Yagi Shinba, will have an animated adaptation by AnimeFesta. The project will premiere in 2026 and its international title will be Ichigo Aika: Strawberry Elegy. To commemorate the announcement, the illustrator shared a special image through the official account of the anime in X.

A complicated relationship between step-siblings

The story revolves around Kōta, whose life changes after his father's remarriage. There he meets Aika, his half-sister, whom he initially perceives as a beautiful young woman. However, she soon discovers her true personality: a foul-mouthed, capricious and uncontrolled gyaru who turns her day-to-day life into a torment every time her parents are not at home. However, the relationship between the two begins to transform when Aika begins to approach the understanding and protective side of Kōta.

Publication of the manga

The work is published under the adult label DEDEDE de by CLLENN, available digitally on the Comic Cmoa platform. The series debuted in November 2022 and currently has three full-color compilation volumes.

History of AnimeFesta

WWWave Corporation, which owns the ComicFesta service, also runs the AnimeFesta television block, known for producing more than 25 manga adaptations in the last six years, mostly with adult or risqué themes. Among its features is the production of two versions: one for censored television and one uncensored available online. Their first title was On a Lustful Night Mingling with a Priest, which led fans to call this type of project "Sōryo-waku".

Currently, the company distributes many of these anime in English through Coolmic and, more recently, through its new OceanVeil platform.
