0

Cosplay continues to be one of the fan-favorite ways to express their passion for anime, and a new survey in Japan revealed which characters are most popular among Japanese women. The result made it clear that, despite the passage of decades, Sailor Moon maintains her crown as the icon of costumes.

Usagi Tsukino leads the ranking

According to the study conducted by the company NEXER INC., a total of 300 women participated in the survey answering the question: "Which anime character would you like to cosplayear?". The overall winner was Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon), who accumulated 35 votes and reaffirmed her status as a benchmark of Japanese pop culture.

The participants highlighted the ease of recreating Sailor Moon's poses and the charm of the sailor-style uniform, considered "a childhood dream" for many Japanese women.

In addition to Usagi, the results included characters from different eras and genres, reflecting the diversity of the fandom:

  • 3. Fujiko Mine — Lupin the Third

While Fujiko was described as a "symbol of feminine beauty" for her figure and style, Maetel embodies the mature elegance that continues to attract older generations of fans.
