The final
episode of Seishun Buta Yarou wa Santa Claus no Yume wo Minai brought
with it an announcement that excited fans: the Seishun Buta Yarou anime
will definitely close with a final film in 2026. The project will
be titled Seishun Buta Yarou wa Dear Friend no Yume wo Minai and
will adapt volume 15 of the light novel, the last of the work written by Hajime
Kamoshida.
The
CloverWorks studio
will once again be in charge of the animation, as it did with the original
series and the previous films. In this way, the franchise will reach its
conclusion after a decade of adaptations that began in 2018 with the first
season of the anime.

The Seishun
Buta Yarou franchise began with the story of Bunny Girl Senpai,
spanning the first five volumes of the novel. Later came the films Seishun
Buta Yarou wa Yumemiru Shoujo no Yume wo Minai (volumes 6-7), Seishun
Buta Yarou wa Odekake Sister no Yume wo Minai (volume 8) and Seishun
Buta Yarou wa Randoseru Girl no Yume wo Minai (volume 9). Finally, in
2024, Santa Claus was released with 13 episodes.
With the
confirmation of Dear Friend, CloverWorks will put the finishing
touch by adapting the last arc of the light novel, published
between 2014 and 2024 under the Dengeki Bunko label.
