The
official site of the film Whoever Steals This Book (Kono Hon or
Nusumu Mono wa), adaptation of the fantasy novel written by Nowaki
Fukamidori, presented a new trailer that confirms the main cast, the production
team and the musical theme “Share” interpreted by YUKI, former vocalist
of Judy and Mary.
The main
cast is made up of Rin Kataoka like Mifuyu Mikura, Sora
Tamaki like Mashiro, Nao Toyama (Chitoge Kirisaki in Nisekoi,
Yui Yuigahama in Oregairu) like Hirune Mikura, Junichi
Suwabe (Aizawa in My Hero Academia, Archer en Fate/stay
night) like Ayumu Mikura, Shizuka Itō (Akeno Himejima in DxD
High School, Irina Jelavić in Assassination Classroom) like
Keiko Yosano, Shimba Tsuchiya (Tsutomu Goshiki in Haikyuu!!,
Tatara Fujita in Ballroom and Youkoso) like Takafumi Haruta,
and Romi Park (Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist, Hange
Zoë en Shingeki no Kyojin) like Tamaki Mikura.
The
management is in charge of Daisei Fukuoka (Radiant, Danganronpa
3), while Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War, No
Longer Allowed in Another World) is in charge of the script. Keiko
Kurosawa (Astra Lost in Space, Asobi Asobase) designs
the characters and also serves as animation director, and Michiru
Oshima (Fullmetal Alchemist, Little Witch Academy)
compose the music. The film is being produced by Kagome Company (Kagokan)
with Kadokawa Animationas distributor.
The project also has the participation of Yuji Higa, founder of Kagokan, who acts as animation producer. Whoever Steals This Book it is based on the novel published by Kadokawa in 2020, which also inspired a manga adaptation illustrated by Kakeru Sora in the magazine Young Ace between 2021 and 2023.
