The third season of One Punch Man it remains embroiled in controversy over the quality of its animation, and now a member of the team itself has spoken out publicly. Vann Oba, key animator of the production, stated that his work “was not performed as expected” due to composition and artistic direction issues.

In his message, Oba noted: “Unfortunately, the art direction and composition didn't do my cuts justice. Still, I'm proud of them; I just wanted to make it clear”. His words reignited the debate among fans of the series, who since the season premiere have harshly criticized the visual level of the animation.

Growing criticism and internal tensions

The controversy broke out when the director of the series he closed his social networks after receiving a wave of negative messages from fans of Saitama. On platforms like X/Twitter, many users demand that Bandai Namco and J.C. Staff they remake the season, accusing a lack of budget and resources compared to the standard imposed by the first season, produced by Madhouse.

The most recent episode, titled “The King of the Monsters”, showed a slight improvement in fluidity, but viewers agree that the animation “has reached its limit”. The frustration of the animation team itself seems to confirm the internal difficulties behind the production.

An uncertain future for the franchise

With the avalanche of criticism and the loss of public trust, the future of One Punch Man it remains uncertain. While some rumors point to a possible change of studio for an eventual fourth season, others doubt that the project will continue after the negative media impact.

For now, the third season is still broadcast under the production of Bandai Namco and J.C. Staff.
