The door to
another dimension opens once again, but this time, from the beginning.
The World Trigger REBOOT Project was officially revealed this
Saturday during the Jump Festa '26 event. It is a new
complete anime adaptation that will reboot the story from Chapter 1
of Daisuke Ashihara's original manga.
The
production will once again be in charge of Toei Animation, the
studio responsible for the previous seasons. However, this project is
positioned as an improved and "enhanced" version of the original
first season. The new series will animate key arcs such as the Border
Enlistment, the Full-Scale Invasion, and the beginning of
the B-Rank Wars.
The
promotional video screened at the event showed a reverse nostalgic journey,
highlighting memorable moments and iconic phrases accompanied by the sound of a
clock. The trailer culminates with Jin Yuichi's symbolic line to Osamu
Mikumo: "I. Are you safe, four eyes?", confirming
the relaunch of the saga.
World
Trigger Festival 2026
Along with
the announcement of the anime, the World Trigger Festival 2026 was
confirmed. This fan event, which marks its fourth edition, will be held
on April 26, 2026 at Kanadevia Hall (formerly
known as Tokyo Dome City Hall).
Context
of the franchise
The
original anime first aired between 2014 and 2016, followed by two more recent
seasons between 2021 and 2022 that were praised for their improvement in
animation quality. This reboot seeks to unify the visual quality of the entire
series from its foundations.
