The pact
with Kyubey will have to wait a little longer. It has been officially confirmed
that the Madoka Magica film Walpurgisnacht Rising (Gekijoban

February 2026 as planned. The premiere has been postponed due to
"circumstances related to production," according to the official
announcement.
Although no
specific date has been given for the final release, the studio assured that the
new release date will be revealed within this month of February.

About the production
The wait
has been long. SHAFT first hinted at new work in the franchise
via a "concept film" in 2015, but the project wasn't officially
announced until April 2021. This film will serve as a direct sequel to the
acclaimed 2013 film Rebellion.
