Although the animation studio and the team in charge have not yet been revealed, the franchise has strong support in the industry. The work has been publicly praised by renowned figures such as Hajime Isayama, the acclaimed creator of Attack on Titan, who has fervently recommended this story that explores themes of what it means to be human and what the value of freedom is.

What is the story about?

The plot immerses us in a science fiction dystopia where humanity lives in desperation, subjugated under the strict government of fungi. Society is tightly controlled, but life in the Amigasa area seems quite normal for Dante, a young man who is considered a weirdo or an "irregular existence" by everyone around him.

His routine takes a radical turn after a chance encounter with a mysterious girl named Aoi. This meeting pushes him to question the nature of his surroundings and leads him to make a firm decision to overthrow the fundamental principles that govern this infested world.

About the original work

Ayaka Katayama began the publication of this manga through the pages of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in March 2021. The work had a brief pause in August of that same year due to the author's maternity leave, resuming its serialization with force in March 2022. The publisher maintains a steady pace, releasing its eighth compiled volume printed in Japan on October 9.
