About
the work
The story
centers on Amane Fujimiya, a neglected student who lives alone in his
apartment. His life suddenly changes when he lends his umbrella on a rainy day
to Mahiru Shiina, the most popular and admired girl at his school, who happens
to be his next-door neighbor. As a way of returning the favor, Mahiru begins to
help him with his household chores, which begins a close daily coexistence that
will transform the relationship between the two.
The light
novel series, written by Saekisan and illustrated by Hanekoto,
began publication in web format in December 2018. It was subsequently acquired
by SB Creative's GA Bunko imprint in June 2019 for
physical distribution. The franchise also has a manga adaptation by
mangaka Suzu Yuki, launched on the digital service Manga UP! at the
beginning of 2022.
