The bloody
and chaotic magic of Hole is finally back. After an agonizing
six-year wait since the debut of its first installment and suffering a painful
delay that took it out of its original window of 2025, the production committee
behind the second season of Dorohedoro stepped on the gas. A
new official trailer confirmed that the series will premiere on television
on April 1.
For Japan's
most impatient fans, the brutality will come a few days earlier, as it was
confirmed that there will be a special world premiere screening of the first
three episodes in Tokyo on March 22. In addition, the video trailer served to
announce the triumphant return of the musical group (K)NoW_NAME,
who will once again inject their unmistakable industrial style in both
the opening track entitled "Zettai Must Danmen", and
the ending theme called "Return to Head".

Details
The visual
brutality of this second installment will continue in the experienced hands of
the MAPPA studio. Fortunately for the coherence of the work,
the hard core of the original technical team returns intact: Yuichiro
Hayashi resumes his position in the director's chair, working side by
side with Hiroshi Seko in the composition of the scripts
and Tomohiro Kishi in the extravagant character design. The
production also announced some high-level internal adjustments, bringing
in Miho Sugiura as the new art director and promoting Itsuku
Onishi as a key color artist.
About
the original work
This acclaimed and surreal dark fantasy story was born from the mind of mangaka Q Hayashida. After becoming a cult work in print, the manga made the leap to animation with a first season of 12 episodes released in Japan in January 2020, which was later distributed worldwide in May of that same year through the Netflix platform.
