The magic
academy will open its doors for much longer than expected. A new video trailer
for the animated adaptation of The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch (known
in Japan as Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoshitsu) confirmed that the
series will hit television on April 12. The production committee
announced that the anime will be broadcast for two consecutive cours,
guaranteeing half an uninterrupted year of episodes on the screen.
The footage
also gave us a sound preview of the musical themes that will accompany Spica's
adventures. The singer ASCA will be responsible for injecting
energy with the opening theme entitled "Cusp", while the
group Spira Spica will close each chapter with the ending
theme called "Tune Up".

What is
the story about?
The premise
follows Spica Virgo, an apprentice witch who has a monumental problem: she is
completely incapable of using magic. To earn a place at the prestigious
wizarding school of her dreams, she desperately needs a mentor to back her up,
but sadly she lacks money and connections. His luck changes radically when a
mysterious talking black cat who masters sorcery crosses his path.
While Spica
longs to master sorcery at all costs, the black cat has his own goal: to break
a curse that afflicts him. Realizing that their goals align, they both form a
secret pact of master and apprentice. However, there is an embarrassing little
detail in the contract, as the key to breaking the feline's curse involves a
kiss!
