If you thought Natsu's fire had already gone out with the end of the main story, get ready because the furnace is hotter than ever. The official website of Hiro Mashima's manga confirmed on Tuesday that Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine will receive a new short serialization of Fairy Tail as a central part of its 20th anniversary celebrations. The new chapters of this magic shonen will debut in the combined 36/37 edition of the magazine, scheduled for August 5, 2026.

The celebration does not remain only on paper. In addition to the YouTube marathon that will add new chapters every Saturday, collectors have a date with the claw machines in Japan. Sega's Yumemirize brand will launch a new Erza Scarlet figure in October with a bunny outfit that promises to be the jewel of many shelves. As if that were not enough, Hiro Mashima will take the time to thank the unconditional support with a national signing tour that will visit Hokkaido, Tokyo, Aichi, Osaka and Fukuoka. Mashima shared a direct message assuring that he is totally "turned on" to see his readers again and celebrate these two decades of adventures.

What is this chaotic wizarding guild about?

For those who need a refresher, the original work that was published between 2006 and 2017 introduces us to Lucy Heartfilia, a young magician who dreams of entering the prestigious association of sorcerers. His life changes when he meets Natsu, a fire wizard capable of eating flames, and his talking cat Happy. Together they are part of the Fairy Tail Guild, a place famous for accepting dangerous quests and destroying half a kingdom in the process. While the sequel 100 Years Quest is still active, these new special August chapters will serve to delve deeper into the legacy of a series that defined the adventure and friendship genre for an entire generation.
