Just as the
new season was starting to pick up pace, it's time to put the handbrake on. The
production committee behind That Time I Got Reincarnated as a
Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken), Studio 8-Bit's monstrous
animated adaptation of the novels created by Fuse, confirmed
on Tuesday, April 14, a sudden change in its schedule. The episode
originally scheduled to air on May 1 on NTV has been canceled for unspecified
scheduling reasons, momentarily cutting off the regular broadcast of the
series.
A
television special to compensate for the absence
In order
not to leave viewers completely empty-handed that week, the BS11 channel will
broadcast a special one-hour program on May 2. This block will
feature the participation of presenter Haruka Mori and the main voice of the
project, who will recount the story and talk about the future of the series.
While we're on the subject of the voice cast, here's the actress in charge of
bringing the most powerful isekai slime to life:
- Miho
Okasaki as Rimuru Tempest
Mary
Hunt in My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! and
Rosell Kischa in Reincarnated Aristocrat.
The
monumental challenge of the five consecutive cours
This cancelled
broadcast marks the first bump in a brutally ambitious plan. Season
4 kicked off on April 3 and is structured to last five cours (quarters
of broadcast). This means that the series will remain on television for more
than a year almost uninterrupted. To set the scene for this colossal journey,
artist Eir Aoi performs the opening theme "Esoragoto," while the
group CiON closes the episodes with the theme "Katsubo." For now, the
studio assured that the first two parts will be broadcast back-to-back, hoping
to resume this rhythm once the May break passes.
From a
web novel to the throne of Japanese fantasy
The
universe of the Jura Tempest Federation has very deep foundations. The work
started in 2013 on the site Shosetsuka ni Naro and quickly
jumped to the format of a light novel under the Micro Magazine
label in 2014. After more than 400 million web visits and a hugely successful
manga by Taiki Kawakami, the main printed story concluded only in November of
last year with its 23rd volume. Added to this is a recent film, several
spin-offs and years of constant content that have this franchise at the top of
the entertainment industry.
