Supernatural
antics and content creation are about to officially invade the small screen.
The account of the magazine Coro Coro Comics of the
publisher Shogakukan confirmed this Wednesday that the Black
Channel manga will receive an animated adaptation in
the format of a traditional series for television.
To
commemorate this leap into the big leagues of the anime industry,
author Satoshi Kisaichi published a special illustration
dedicated to his readers. Although the production committee did not reveal
details about the animation studio, voice actors or the release window, the
announcement consolidates the commercial success of this work that has been
publishing chapters since 2020 and already has 13 compilation volumes in the
Japanese market.
The long
road from YouTube to Japanese television
This is not
the first time that the franchise has explored audiovisual formats. In
September 2020, the play received a series of short films directly on YouTube,
allowing audiences to see its protagonists in motion. Subsequently, in 2022,
the spin-off manga Black Channel: Breaking The Wall also had
its own miniseries on the internet. However, this new project marks the first
time that the central story has received the full treatment and budget needed
to air on national television programming.
The
curiosity of a demon behind the camera
The plot of
this irreverent demonic comedy revolves around Black, an
inhabitant of the underworld who travels to the human world with an extremely
peculiar goal: to get interesting material for his videos. Accompanied by Camera-chan,
a high-efficiency demon who serves as his personal recording assistant, Black
is dedicated to documenting and exposing the hidden aspects of people's
everyday activities, showing a particular interest in hobbies and
games that humans prefer to keep strictly secret.
