Music has the power to connect realities, and the competitive universe of virtual bands is about to make a massive leap to the small screen. To kick off the summer season with a bang, the multimedia franchise confirmed that the animated adaptation of BanG Dream! Yume Mita (BanG Dream! Yume∞Mita) will debut on Japanese television on July 2. To ensure that viewers are caught up in its rhythm from the first second, the production made an atypical decision: it will release the first three episodes simultaneously.

This series introduces a new chapter in the extensive musical saga, focusing its spotlight on Mugendai Mewtype, also known in the community as YumeMita. The story will explore the complex dynamics, personal growth, and challenges of succeeding as a virtual group where the barrier between dreams and the real world is constantly blurred. The group that will seek to conquer the stages is made up of the following talents:

  • Arale Nakamachi on lead vocals.
  • Nonoka Miyanaga and Ritsu Minetsuki dominating the guitars.
  • Miyako Fuji on keyboard.
  • Yuno Sengoku setting the pulse as a DJ.

The technical team behind the scenes

Orchestrating the television debut of these virtual idols required assembling a team of industry veterans. The NICHICALINE studio is responsible for the animation under the general direction of Tomomi Umetsu. The narrative, a crucial element to trap the viewer in any musical slice of life, is being shaped by Midori Goto's scripts. To maintain the project's vibrant aesthetic, Osamu Nobusawa and Mochipuyo are in charge of adapting the character designs to the screen.

Being a franchise that breathes music, the sound section has a colossal weight. The production of the original tracks falls on the shoulders of PHYZ and Bushiroad Music, ensuring that the soundscape exactly matches the emotional and energetic tone that the story demands, all under the meticulous mix of sound director Satoshi Motoyama.
