Good Smile
Company has been turning figures into franchises for years, and its latest bet
goes straight to the point: the illustrations of high school girls with heavy
weapons by illustrator neco are going to have anime. The Juu
Heisougata Joshi Kousei (Heavily Armed High School Girls) project was
officially confirmed with a premiere scheduled for 2027,
accompanied by a short trailer and a promotional image that features the

series.
A
project that comes with a name of weight behind the camera
The
direction will be in charge of Masaki Tachibana, whose track record
includes Princess Principal, Barakamon and Tokyo
Magnitude 8.0. Tachibana is exactly the kind of director who knows how to
balance action with character development, which gives the project a clear
signal of where it's headed. The scripts will be overseen by Natsuko
Takahashi, with credits on Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, My Love
Story!! and Love and Lies. The production is jointly
produced by Good Smile Film and Good Smile Company.
For now,
there is no information about the voice cast or additional details of the team.
The announcement focuses on confirming the existence of the project and
presenting its main creative direction. More details are expected in the coming
months.
About
Heavily Armed High School Girls
Neco is an illustrator known in the
anime and collectible figure community for his visual style that combines female
character designs with military elements and large-scale weaponry. Among his
most recognized works are the original character designs for Synduality:
Noir and Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World?. He is
also the author of the manga Ore no Yubi de Midarero, which
served as the basis for the anime Crazy Over His Fingers. Heavily
Armed High School Girls is his first project of his own to receive an
animated adaptation, based on the illustrations and figures he built around the
concept of high school students equipped with heavy weaponry.
