The always profitable trope of the protagonist
banished by a useless prince adds a new victory to her catalog. Through the
opening of its official website, the production committee confirmed
that Aru Watashi wa Tsuihou's popular light novel Shin no Seijo Saremashita.
Dakara Kono Kuni wa Mou Owari Desu (Because I, the True Saint, was
Banished, that Country is Done For!), written by Shikiso Utsuzawa,
will have its own animated adaptation scheduled to land on
Japanese television in the distant year 2027.
If you're a fan of seeing kingdoms fall apart
because of their own bad decisions, this premise will be pure gold for you. The
story introduces us to Eliane, a young woman who has dedicated her entire life
to serving as the absolute saint and protector of the Kingdom of Belkheim,
keeping monsters at bay with her constant prayers. The conflict erupts when a
holy impostor manages to deceive the naïve crown prince, who in addition to
being Eliane's fiancé, decides to break off the engagement and cruelly banish
her because he considers her a fraud. Fed up with so much contempt and
mistreatment, our protagonist decides that it is time to seek a quiet life as a
normal girl in a neighboring nation, although an unexpected encounter on her
trip will change her plans completely.
The talent behind the project
To ensure that this popular franchise,
which already exceeds one and a half million copies in circulation, receives a
dignified treatment on screen, the animation was commissioned to the Tsumugi
Akita Anime Lab studio. The director's chair will be occupied by Tsukasa
Sakurai, while the general scripts will be carried out by Naoki
Tozuka. In the aesthetic section, the talented Naru Nishikori will
be responsible for adapting the character designs so that the
anime maintains all the visual magic that the community fell
in love with on the printed pages.
