If you
thought being a tired office worker was boring, imagine coming home to a
talking bird that turns out to be an otherworldly sage with magical powers. The
animated adaptation of Sasaki and Peeps (Sasaki to Pii-chan)
released all the news for its long-awaited second season,
confirming its premiere for October 7 along with a new
promotional trailer and visual image.
The first
official trailer offered a sneak peek of the opening theme titled
"Unbroken," performed by the group MADKID. In
addition, the production announced the arrival of two additional voices to the
cast: Tasuku Hatanaka playing Himegami-kun and Yu
Sasahara in the role of Eriel. These additions are in addition to the
return of the main cast led by Tomokazu Sugita as Sasaki
and Aoi Yuki as Pii-chan, accompanied by Akari Kito as
Otonari-san, Rie Takahashi as Hoshizaki, Naomi Ozora as Shizuka Futari, Miyu
Tomita as Elsa and Inori Minase as Magical Pink.
Behind the
scenes there are some interesting adjustments happening within the SILVER
LINK studio, as Yushi Ibe assumes the main direction
of this installment after having participated as an episode director in the
previous stage. Assistant director will be Yamato Ouchi,
while Kazunori Ozawa will supervise the action scenes. The
writing and supervision of the scripts continues under the hand of Deko
Akao, with Saori Nakashiki in charge of character design
and musical composition supervised by producers Koji Fujimoto and Osamu Sasaki.

Written
by Buncololi and illustrated by Kantoku, the light
novel saga began publication in January 2021 under Kadokawa's publishing house,
with a manga adaptation drawn by Pureji Osho since that same year. The
franchise made the leap to anime with a first installment broadcast in January
2024, which kicked off with a one-hour special and completed twelve episodes.
The story
follows Sasaki, an office worker whose life passes between routine and work
fatigue. Looking for some companionship, he decides to buy a bird from a pet
store, discovering that the creature is actually a powerful sage from a fantasy
world. After granting him magical abilities and the ability to travel between
dimensions, Sasaki tries to use his new powers to achieve a quiet and
comfortable life, although a series of extravagant characters and supernatural
incidents continue to ruin his plans.
