The production committee gave us a bucket of
cold water wrapped in a spectacular promotional video. Although originally
planned to debut next July, the second season of The
Detective Is Already Dead (known in Japan as Tantei wa Mou,
Shindeiru) has been officially delayed until October 2026. The

presenting new promotional images of the cast, confirmed who will be in charge
of setting the pace for this new stage of the mystery.

Siesta's Untouchable Legacy
Despite this bump in the broadcast calendar,
the health of the literary license is still enviable. The original story,
written by Nigojū and illustrated by Umibōzu, began
publication under Kadokawa's MF Bunko J imprint in late 2019, winning the award
for best newcomer that same year. Its premise about a young man with terrible
luck who ends up as an assistant to a world-class legendary detective, only to
deal with the emptiness and global consequences of her mysterious death years
later, resonated strongly in the community. Its universe has recently expanded
with the manga ending in 2023 and spin-off novels published
until mid-2024.
Considering the eventful record of visual
quality that the first season had.
