The publisher Shueisha had already announced the delay for the 21st edition of its magazine Weekly Shonen Jump and revealed that it will be launched in combination with the number 22 on April 27.

The main reason for the delay of some magazines is because there are suspicions that a worker from the publishing company is a carrier of the COVID-19 virus since on Thursday, April 2, the worker reported ill to the company explaining his symptoms. For this reason, the worker attended a hospital and was ordered to stay home and not leave until a COVID-19 test result was obtained. For this reason, Shueshia ordered her employees to work from home starting April 6. Additionally, the Weekly Shonen Jump editorial department has temporarily halted all work to further reduce the risk of spreading the infection to manga creators and others involved in the magazine.

However, the editorial also clarified that this worker does not work in an area that puts at risk the health of the authors of the different manga that they serialize.
