A mysterious person with the username John Titor, who claims to be a time traveler from the year 2036 and who hopes to recruit people to avoid World War III, appeared on Twitter recently. This person claims to have an intimate knowledge of the direct events that will happen as a chain reaction aimed at a disaster, and his description of the events is quite familiar to anyone who has played Steins; Gate.

The account was created this month, however, it just started posting updates. These are the most important messages he has posted so far.
"Mayuri Shiina obtaining Metal Upa. That seems to be the main cause of the Third World War. " It should be remembered that "Metal Upa" is a certain collectible toy in the game world, and that Mayuri Shiina is one of the heroines.
“In order to make sure Mayuri Shiina doesn't get Metal Upa, I wish everyone to help me on a task. Please collect and preserve each and every Upa released in the past and future. "
"The operation will start a little before Mayuri Shiina gets the Metal Upa, which will take place on July 28 at 11:00 am. just in case, I hope people achieve the goal a week before this date. "
"The name of this operation will be" Operation Fortuna. " Please, everyone, help me to do it! " It should be noted that this last tweet is written with the female pronoun "atashi", which coincides with a certain character in the series.

Additionally, July 28 is the date on which the game's prologue Steins; Gate takes place, in which protagonist Rintarou Okabe and Mayuri Shiina visit Akihabara, obtain Metal Upa, and end up meeting Kurisu Makise. It is still unknown if this is all an elaborate referential joke or if it is the turning point in a bigger ad.
