The online store of the hentai publisher FAKKU has been blocked

FAKKU is an English adult manga publisher, which originally started as a compilation site for scanlations ( fan scans and translations ) of adult manga and doujinshi from Japan. It was in 2015 that FAKKU finally transitioned to become an official publisher of adult manga.

In 2011, the streaming platform Kitty Media partnered with FAKKU for the distribution of some adult titles, starting with Immoral Sisters . In 2017, Kitty Media was officially acquired by FAKKU for digital distribution, while physical distribution will continue to be handled by Media Blasters .

But today we do not come to flatter the hentai industry in the West, but to lament the problems it is currently going through due to the censorship of adult content from Japan. FAKKU issued a press release informing that they have blocked the distribution of physical products, which was carried out through a third party. The post wrote:

“ Since August 31, 2021, FAKKU has not been able to accept orders for digital or physical products (doujin, video games, books, clothing, etc.) in our online store, which was hosted by a third-party service. This does not affect FAKKU Unlimited subscriptions. Orders placed before August 31, 2021 will be shipped to customers on time and smoothly, barring unforeseen, unrelated circumstances. We are actively working to create an order status page for these orders that will provide tracking and additional information. All new non-subscription releases are currently delayed. FAKKU is actively working on launching a new order fulfillment showcase and we will post more updates soon.».

The publisher also shared a second update with a FAQ ( Common Questions ) on the situation, highlighting one that wrote: ' Is this related to a security breach or compromised customer information? No, this is purely the result of the ongoing crusade against adult content by the major technology platforms .

It is worth noting that in July 2020 the publisher reported that the Amazon platform had removed various adult titles from its listings as part of a " content purge ". However, at that time it was simply a means of distribution, while this time the publisher has been unable to sell physical products on its own.
