The Harvey Awards are awarded annually by the American comic book industry, although currently it also honors the manga industry and its achievements within the North American territory. In this year, Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga Chainsaw Man , was awarded the "Best Manga" award, and Fujimoto himself commented in his speech:

Thank you for the amazing prize! It is the best award of all that exist in America! I consider that this crude manga of mine is not worthy of any award, but I plan to continue filling it with all the things that I like. If they ever give out prizes again, let me know! Thank you very much . The manga competed for the award with Asadora! by Naoki Urasawa , Boys Run the Riot by Keito Gaku , Remina by Junji Itou and SPY x FAMILY by Tatsuya Endou .

Moreover, Fujimoto began publishing the manga Chainsaw Man in the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump publisher Shueisha in December 2018, ending the first half on 14 December. The eleventh volume ended the first part of the work, and the continuation is still in process. The manga will feature an anime series adaptation, which will be produced by MAPPA studios , but has not revealed its release date.

Chainsaw Man Synopsis

The story takes place in a world where Demons threaten the peace of humans, making them targets to be eliminated. Denji is a depressed young man who has sold several of his organs and works as a woodcutter and demon hunter to pay off his late father's debt. Denji owns a dog (who is also a demon) named Pochita, who has chainsaws and who he uses to do his job.

This is explained since humans can contract with demons. After returning home from a job, Denji is called in by a Yakuza to infiltrate a building and murder another demon. However, the plan was a trap to assassinate him as part of a Yakuza contract with the demon, obtaining these more power. But Pochita comes to Denji's aid and joins him, becoming a half man half demon and acquiring Pochita's chainsaws.
