The Haikyou talent agency reported that voice actor Motomu Kiyokawa passed away on August 17 due to pneumonia, at the age of 87. His family held a private funeral in his honor. On the other hand, Kiyokawa was born in the year 1935 and in 1957 he joined the Haiyuza Theater troupe . He later joined the Haikyou agency in 1968, then working as both a stage actor and a voice actor.
- In the following video, released in February of this year, Kiyokawa recites a story about a husband verbally abusing his wife. One day he wakes up in the hospital after an accident, only to learn that his wife saved his life after donating her blood. This causes a change in him.
Motomu Kiyokawa is recognized for a variety of roles, including Walter C. Dornez in Hellsing , Tippy in Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? , Gargoyle in Fushigi no Umi no Nadia , Wei Wang in Cardcaptor Sakura , Norman Burg in The Big O , Altorius in Isekai Shokudou , among others. However, he is widely recognized for playing the role of Kouzou Fuyutuski , NERV's vice-commander in the popular Neon Genesis Evangelion multimedia franchise .
Kiyokawa played the character in every installment of the franchise, including the Rebuild of Evangelion film project , the latest film of which was released last year. Also, he is listed as the voice of Choji Kobayashimaru in the original anime KJ File , currently airing, but it has not been reported if the recordings have finished yet.
