There is no doubt
that “ Jujutsu
Kaisen ” is one of the most popular manga today, not to mention
its adaptation to anime, one of the most appreciated cards currently for MAPPA studios with which
it ensures to stand out with each new season or production. However,
although the manga is in its final arc, it has begun to receive criticism because
it entered an apparent narrative cycle.
The final arc
involves Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, facing the Jujutsu Sorcerers one
after another. One after another, different characters have faced him
and end up dead or unable to fight again. This has been repeated so
many times in recent months that fans already seem to be tired of the cliché.
This is what a user declared on networks, triggering a debate in forums:
- « I'll tell you why I
don't like “Jujutsu Kaisen”. Sukuna is extremely strong and is the
final enemy, so it is natural to think that some of the protagonists will
die. So, the team of protagonists must have planned their
strategy against the King of Curses. In fact, they had a month to
prepare, and they had made “cheats”, so they should have several
“safeties” prepared. But what is seen in everything from the arc? »,
He wrote.
- « Each of them launches
into combat against Sukuna without thinking twice and ends up torn to
pieces. Even Satoru Gojo, the strongest of them all, ended
up being cut in half for entering the battle without any precautions or
any plan. Megumi Fushiguro's antagonistic behavior is also really
boring. “The story is being unnecessarily lengthened ,”
she concluded.
And of course, there
was no shortage of comments:
- " It has become
repetitive, there is no doubt ."
- « No one dares to express
an opinion against Jujutsu Kaisen because the fandom is too sick .»
- " If any of them had
had a plan, surely the story would have ended long ago ."
- " For some reason,
everyone fights Sukuna in a one-on-one battle thinking they can beat him ."
- « The same goes for the
Cell arc in Dragon Ball. "They had a period of preparation and they
fought one on one ."
- « Gege Akutami wants to
protect Sukuna even if it means ruining the reputation of his work. That's
true love ."
- « This is a battle-royale.
Infinite battles around Sukuna in an endless cycle .
- " It's incredible
that even on Twitter, where criticism is not allowed no matter how bad it
is, it is now 90% negative about the current state of Jujutsu Kaisen ."
- « Isn't it incredible that
even Twitter shits on your story? That is not achieved very often .
- « The only really
important thing is the fact that no one thinks about “attacking all at
once”, perhaps because that's how Kimetsu no Yaiba ended, because someone
finally thought of it . »
- " I wonder if they
will use the Kimetsu no Yaiba resource where everyone decided to attack at
the same time and finally managed to win ."
- « Normally when everyone
goes on a suicide mission, the allied side dies in a chain. And even then
the enemy cannot be defeated .
- « The way things are going
right now, they are going to make a sequel without resolution. In other
words, he wants to imitate what they did with Tokyo Ghoul .
- « Panda is still alive,
right? ».
- « Before I was excited to
know how things would end. Now I just want Jujutsu Kaisen to end as soon
as possible .
