the premieres of the Spring-2024 (April-June) season, “ Spice and Wolf: Merchant
Meets the Wise Wolf ” definitely stands out not only for a
spectacular and consistent quality of animation, but for the fact that the
quality narrative is assured as it is the remake of one of the most popular
stories of the 2000s.
The 2008
“Spice and Wolf” anime was praised for its wit, animation, and unique plot.
The unexpected remake, instead of a third season, was definitely a
surprise to everyone. The endearing relationship between Holo and Lawrence is
once again the protagonist. Their vibrant personalities and nostalgic
charm were definitely what captivated audiences over a decade ago.
“Spice
and Wolf” explores the economic intricacies of Lawrence's mercantile life
intertwined with the mystical presence of Holo. As they overcome challenges,
the story delves into love, friendship, and the delicate balance between humans
and nature.
And why are
we talking about this now? Well, it turns out that the franchise is finally
taking center stage on social media, with a small clip from the most recent
episode going viral. This scene shows Holo doing a little dance moving
her hands and ears, with such a good animation that it definitely charms his

Juu Ayakura , who handled the original designs for the franchise since the light novels, celebrated this addition with a special illustration:

anime easily go viral, as has previously happened with other franchises such as
“ Kaguya-sama: Love is War “, “ Mikakunin de
Shinkoukei (Engaged to the Unidentified) ” and “ Chuunibyou
demo Koi ga Shitai! ", to name a few. Definitely these original
details added by the animation team (since there is no way for the novel to
describe in detail what the dance should be like) are highly appreciated by
viewers:
