Following the broadcast of today’s episode, a new
promotional visual for the third season of the anime “ Re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another
World ” was revealed. As previously announced, this
third season will be divided into two parts, with the first ending today.
The second part, titled “Counterattack Arc,” will
premiere in Japan on February 5, 2025. The visual in
question shows Subaru, Emilia, Reinhard, and the Archbishops of Sin, Regulus,
Capella, Sirius, and other characters facing each other, a preview of what will
come next year.
For its part, Tappei Nagatsuki began
publishing the novels independently through the Shousetsuka ni Narou service
in April 2012, and later the publisher Kadokawa began
publishing them in paperback with illustrations by Shinichirou Ootsuka in
January 2014. A total of two seasons and a variety of OVAs have been produced
for the anime adaptation, all at the hands of the WHITE FOX studios
.
Synopsis of Re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another World
As he leaves the store, Subaru Natsuki finds himself
in a bustling city inhabited by humans and demi-humans. The city, which uses
dragons and carriages as its means of transportation, is evidently not the
modern Japan he knows. However, as someone who spends his days engrossed in
comics and games, Subaru assumes he is a protagonist in this new fantasy world,
harnessing supreme magical powers. Unfortunately for him, this is not the case,
and things quickly go awry when he runs into a group of thugs. Fortunately, a
silver-haired beauty named Satella comes to his rescue, as she searches for her
stolen badge.
In return for his kindness, Subaru offers to help him
on the quest, which eventually leads them to a loot shop. Assuming the badge
was exchanged for money, Subaru enters the shop in hopes of bargaining with the
owner over the stolen item. However, to his surprise, what awaits them is not
the badge, but a brutal killer who leads the two to their deaths. But instead
of waking up in the afterlife, Subaru is shocked to find himself alone in the
middle of the day, as if he never left the city in the first place. Thus, his
life in another world mysteriously begins for a second time.
