A new leak
was recently revealed by SUGOI Lite, a renowned industry leaker, confirming
that the sequel to "Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru ( My Dress-Up
Darling )" will be released in July 2025. This
confirms the information that we had already
advanced months ago , when a new promotional image for the sequel was revealed,
showing Marin Kitagawa's cosplays and hinting at the arcs that will be
adapted.
What's
interesting now is that, in addition to the date, it's confirmed that the main
cast of the first season will return for this new installment. Great news for fans! Just as
the promotional image had already revealed, the " Shizuku Kuroe
Arc, Part 2 ", the " Arisa Izayoi Arc ",
the " Rei Kogami Arc ", and the " Coffin
Arc " will be adapted in this second season.
In the
meantime, here are the details of this franchise:
- The anime adaptation of
"Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru" premiered in Winter-2022
(January-March) ,
and consisted of a total of twelve episodes covering the early major
events of the story, captivating fans with its charming combination of
romance and cosplay.
- The manga, written by Shinichi
Fukuda, began serialization in Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine in
January 2018. The series ended in March 2025, which surprised many
fans who weren't expecting such a quick conclusion, considering the pace
at which events were unfolding.
- The series production team
includes CloverWorks studios and Keisuke Shinohara on the direction , known for his work on
titles such as "A3! Season Spring & Summer" and "Black
Fox". The scripts are being written and supervised by Yoriko
Tomita . The character designs were done by Kazumasa
Ishida , recognized for his work on "Kiznaiver" and
"Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend". Finally, the
soundtrack was composed by Takeshi Nakatsuka .
- The series synopsis follows
Wakana Gojou, a first-year student who is dedicated to traditional
dollmaking, but has no friends due to his love for the art and his shy
nature. His life takes a turn when he meets Marin Kitagawa, an
outgoing girl passionate about cosplay. Despite their
differences, they become close friends and begin collaborating on costume
making.
