A press
release listed that Muchimaro 's manga , " Seitokai
ni mo Ana wa Aru! ( There Is Also a Hole in the Student
Organization! )," is getting an anime adaptation. The release
listed production details, but did not indicate a scheduled premiere
date . The official site also included a variety of comments,
highlighting:
- Muchimaro's comment: An anime is coming!
Seriously...? Can we really do it!? An anime adaptation?! How wonderful!!!
Thanks to the support of everyone who has been with us all this time, one
of my biggest dreams has come true. Truly, thank you so much. Now, I hope
you enjoy watching these characters move and talk on screen...! How
wonderful!!!
- Director Naoyuki Tatsuwa's
Commentary: Congratulations on the announcement of the anime adaptation! The
chaotic daily life of the Fujinari Academy student council will be brought
to life through animation. We're currently working hard to make everything
fun and exciting, so please look forward to seeing the scenes, situations,
and dialogue you love from the manga recreated in an animated version. Please
look forward to it!
- Comment from Ryo Imamura
(Character Design): I'm Imamura, and I'll be in charge of character design.
Muchimaro-sensei's illustrations are full of fascinating details, highly
expressive anatomy, and a touch of fetishism, as well as a strong
personality in each character. I believe my mission in this project is to
capture all of that essence in animation, and I'm going to put all my
effort and skills into achieving that. We're preparing everything with
great enthusiasm, so please look forward to it a little longer! I'll
do my best!
- Masahiro Yokotani (series
composition and script) commentary: Comedy, eroticism, and emotion. Three
elements that, in theory, shouldn't go well together (or at least, that's
what I thought until now), but which coexist perfectly in this work and
enhance each other. I'll never forget the impact I felt the first time I
read the manga. In script meetings, we kept asking ourselves: "Can we
really broadcast this on TV?" I'm eager to see what color Tan-no's
"××" will end up being and how we'll manage to express the
president's "○○" scene. I can't wait for the broadcast!
For his
part, Muchimaro began publishing the manga through Kodansha 's Weekly
Shonen Magazine in April 2022. This is his first manga to get an anime
adaptation, although a few years ago he also published " Yo ga Yo
nara! (It's Just Not My Night!: Tale of a Fallen Vampire Queen)"
through the same publisher.
Synopsis
of Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru!
The
story of this four-panel comedy takes place at a prestigious school on the
outskirts of the city. There, Ume Mizunoe, a high school student who excels in
humanities but is disastrous in science, joins the student council in the hopes
of improving his academic performance and thus avoiding having to repeat the
year.
However,
what Ume didn't expect was that the other council members were a group of
quirky, personality-filled characters: some incredibly silly, others overly
grumpy, some downright intimidating, and just as many oddly lovable. Despite
their differences, they all share a unique warmth that makes their daily lives
as strange as they are endearing.
