The anime
adaptation of the light novel Zutaboro Reijō wa Ane no Moto
Konyakusha ni Dekiai Sareru , internationally titled Betrothed
to My Sister's Ex , revealed this Friday a new promotional video
that confirms its premiere for July 4 in Japan, on the MBS, TBS
and CBC networks in the night slot (local time on July 5 at 01:53 ,
corresponding to 18:53 on July 4 in Spain ).
New
voices and musical themes
The
announcement also featured more cast members, a new promotional image, and
details about the main songs:
- Minami Tanaka as Anastasia ,
Marie's older sister and daughter of Baron Shederan.
- Ryōhei Kimura as Louisphon ,
the third prince of the Diltz Kingdom and Kyuros's friend.
- Yōko Hikasa as Mio ,
head maid and bodyguard at Kyuros' mansion.
- Sayaka Ōhara as Ryu-Ryu ,
Kyuros' mother.
The series
also confirmed that Krage will perform the opening theme
song, "Gesshoku" ("Lunar Eclipse"),
while Myuk will perform the ending theme song, "Marie ."
Both songs have been featured in recently released promotional videos.
High-level staff
The
anime is being produced by LandQ studio under the direction of Takayuki Kitagawa ( Tokyo
7th Sisters ), with Masakazu Sunagawa serving as
assistant director. Kenta Ihara ( Saga of Tanya the
Evil ) is in charge of the script, Akiko Satō is
designing the characters, and Kujira Yumemi is composing the
music.
The main
protagonists will be played by Rena Motomura as Marie and Daiki
Hamano as Kyuros .
A story
of replacements, misunderstandings, and romance
The story
follows Marie , a young woman who has always lived in the
shadow of her older sister in an impoverished household. When her sister
unexpectedly dies on her way to her engagement to a count, Marie is forced to
replace her to preserve the alliance... unaware that it was all a misunderstanding .
Now, she must try to win over the handsome nobleman or resign herself to
living, once again, with nothing for herself.
Origins
and upcoming releases
The
original story was published as a web novel by Tobirano on
the Shōsetsuka ni Narō portal in 2019. Futabasha is
currently publishing the light novels illustrated by Mai Murasaki ,
the eighth installment of which was released on January 10 .
The manga adaptation , by Chikage Nakakura ,
has been available on the Gaugau Monster website since 2020,
with its eighth compiled book volume released on December 25 .
In
April, Seven Seas Entertainment announced the licensing of
both the novel and manga, and plans to publish them in English beginning
in January 2026
