The
Rascal Does Not Dream franchise continues
to expand with its newest installment titled Rascal Does Not Dream of
Santa Claus ( Seishun Buta Yarō wa Santa Claus no Yume wo
Minai ). The new anime, which adapts the "University
Student" arc, has been confirmed to premiere on July 5 at 5:30
p.m. (UTC+2) in Japan, through the channels Tokyo MX , Gunma
TV , Tochigi TV and BS11 , as well
as streaming platforms such as ABEMA , U-NEXT and Anime
Hōdai .
An
emotional song to close each episode
During
the broadcast of the second promotional video, the ending theme song for the series was
revealed : "Suiheisen wa Boku no Furukizu" ( The
Horizon is My Old Wound ), a song performed by the characters Uzuki
Hirokawa , Ikumi Akagi , Sara Himeji ,
and Tōko Kirishima . The melody promises to be a reflection of
the deep feelings that characterize this work.

features the return of its main staff: Sōichi Masui as
director, CloverWorks in charge of animation, Masahiro
Yokotani as series composition, Satomi Tamura as

addition, the opening theme song "Snowdrop" will
be performed by Conton Candy .
A legacy
of a decade
The
franchise celebrates its 10th anniversary this year since the
release of its first light novel Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl
Senpai in April 2014. Written by Hajime Kamoshida ,
the series already has 15 volumes , the latest of which is
titled Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend , published in
October 2023.
To date,
the series' universe has been adapted into multiple formats, including the hit
2018 anime series, as well as the films Rascal Does Not Dream of a
Dreaming Girl , Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing
Out , and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid ,
the latter of which is set to be released in December 2023 in Japan.

over 3 million copies in circulation and growing global
acclaim, Rascal Does Not Dream has established itself as one
of the most emotional and existential stories in modern anime. The next
installment promises to continue delving into the complexity of its characters
