At the
Otakon 2025 event, Manga Mavericks announced the release of
two exciting manga in English for the year 2026: Fishgod, by
Chlona, and Ballet Hero Fantasy: Dan's Adventure Feat. Steven McRae,
by Takafumi Adachi. The first volumes of both series are now available for
pre-order, with digital and physical release dates scheduled for the first
months of next year.
Fishgod:
action and revenge in a world full of fish
Fishgod will be released digitally in
January 2026 and in print format in May. The plot takes place in a world
invaded by the Kaigyo, fish that walk on land, eat concrete and
destroy buildings. Jaytle Nish, the protagonist, witnessed a decade ago how
these fish, under the orders of a mysterious individual dressed in black,
murdered his parents.
Now, while
working to exterminate these creatures, he finds an enigmatic woman who
consumes toxic Kaigyo meat. Together, they will face off against everything
from deadly fish to mysterious cults in this action series with a vibrant
pop-art style.
Author Chlona comments
that Fishgod is a work of action and camaraderie between male and female
protagonists with opposite personalities. As a single mother, she decided to
embark on the creation of a long-form manga, putting her whole heart into this
dark story full of revenge and passion. Originally published in LINE
Manga since July 2022, the third compiled volume came out in digital
format on July 11, 2025, and is also distributed at events and on its website.
Ballet
Hero Fantasy: A Magical Adventure Between Dance and Action
On the
other hand, Ballet Hero Fantasy: Dan's Adventure Feat. Steven McRae will
arrive in both digital and print in February 2026. This series combines ballet,
elements of tokusatsu and a fantastic story that follows Dan, a young man with
a big dream of being a dancer. Although he has a lot of heart, his talent does
not live up to his passion.
His
inspiration is Steven McRae, a dancer and ballet hero who uses a magic mirror
to travel to a fantastical world. When Dan accidentally ends up following
Steven, it is revealed that their encounter was no coincidence.
Takafumi
Adachi, creator of the work, expresses his joy for this publication in English,
thanking Manga Mavericks for making it possible for readers around the world to
enjoy this story that highlights the strength and elegance of men's ballet in a
fantastic setting. The manga was originally published by Shinshokan, with two
volumes compiled and a previous English edition.
