Mangaka Rin
Ono, known for her work on I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest
Girl in My Class, is preparing the release of her new work Watashi
Datte Seishun Shitai yo, Hontō wa (The Truth Is That I Want to Enjoy
My Youth Too), which will debut in the next edition of Ichijinsha's Comic
Yuri Hime magazine on July 17 (local time in Japan,
10:00 on July 17 in Spain).
The story
will feature a color opening page and will be part of
the 20th anniversary celebration of the magazine, one of the
most important publications of the Yuri genre.
An
author who continues to gain ground in the world of manga
Rin Ono is
also responsible for the manga adaptation of the light novel series Class
of 2-ban Me ni Kawaii Onna no Ko to Tomodachi ni Natta (I Befriended
the Second Cutest Girl in the Class), written by Takata. The manga
is published on Kadokawa's Comic Alive+ website
and already has five compilation volumes, the last one released in
November 2024.
The
popularity of the series has grown so much that an anime adaptation has
been confirmed, which is scheduled to premiere in 2026.
High
expectations for Rin Ono's next album
Details
about the plot of Watashi Datte Seishun Shitai I, Hontō wa have
yet to be revealed, but the title suggests a narrative centered on personal
longings, emotional discovery, and shared youth.
With her
signature art style and narrative sensibility, Rin Ono aims to touch the hearts
of her readers once again. Undoubtedly, this new proposal will be one of the
most anticipated in Comic Yuri Hime magazine this summer.
