The
official X account (formerly Twitter) of Marcey
Naito's manga Tying the Knot With an Amagami Sister (Amagami-san
Chi no Enmusubi) confirmed on Monday that the series will officially end
with volume 22.
The news
was revealed alongside the launch of a promotional campaign that includes a
raffle for three prepaid QUO cards, on the occasion of the
publication of volume 20, scheduled for June 17
A
romantic comedy with a marriage destination
The manga
follows Uryu Kamihate, a young man with a complicated past who
dreams of entering medical school. However, her plans to have a quiet place to
study fall apart as she moves into her new adopted home: a working sanctuary.
There he not only has to live with the three charismatic Amagami
sisters, but he discovers that he is destined to marry one of them and take
on the responsibility of the family temple.
Anime
adaptation and international distribution
The anime
adaptation of Tying the Knot With an Amagami Sister first
aired on October 1 on TV Tokyo, its six affiliated
networks, and BS NTV. Its second part began in January of
this year. The Crunchyroll platform broadcast the series in
simulcast, including an English dubbed version.
A work
that says goodbye after more than three years
Marcey
Naito released
this romantic comedy in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in April
2021. Since then, he has gained a solid fan base both in Japan and
abroad. Kodansha USA Publishing has licensed the manga for
distribution in English, and its K MANGA platform offers the
chapters digitally.
With the
announcement of its closure in volume 22, the story of love and family
tradition comes to an end, leaving fans waiting to see which of the Amagami
sisters will finally be chosen.
