Theogony: Anime Introduces Zeiena and Reveals the Evil God

The production team of the anime Teogonia, based on the light novels by Tsukasa Tanimai, announced that renowned actress Yūko Kaida joins the cast voicing Zeiena, the youngest daughter of the Macaque royal family. The announcement was accompanied by an official illustration of the character, highlighting his imposing design and aristocratic presence.



Along with the addition of Kaida, a shocking image of Diabo, the evil god who threatens to upset the balance of the world, was also presented. This being, surrounded by dark energy and a fearsome silhouette, anticipates a crucial role within the narrative.



Details of the anime and its creative team


Teogonia premiered on April 11 via Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and BS11. In addition, from April 12 at 06:30 (Spanish time), it is available on the ABEMA platform. Crunchyroll broadcasts the series simultaneously with English dubbing included.


The direction is in charge of Kunihiro Mori, known for his work on Phantom in the TwilightTomoyasu Okubo is in charge of the script, while Kōichirō Kawano, the original illustrator of the novels, adapts the character design. The music is composed by Kenji Fujisawa, with production by WOWMAX. The closing track, titled "Tsuki to Boku to Atarashii Jibun," is performed by idol group STU48.


A world of wars and mysterious memories


The history of Theogony is set in an era dominated by wars between humans and demi-human tribes such as the Macaques and the Ogres. In the midst of the conflict, Kai, a young man from the town of Rag, fights to protect his family. However, his destiny changes when memories of an advanced civilization, completely alien to his world, begin to arise in his mind.


Thus begins an epic adventure that combines fantasy, drama and science fiction, while Kai is dragged into a greater struggle guided by memories that should not belong to him.


Origin of the project and manga adaptation


The original novel was published on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō site in August 2017, and its last update dates back to October 2023Shufu to Seikatsusha publishes the volumes under its Pash! Books, having released the third volume in June 2019. A new paperback edition began distribution on April 4.


The manga adaptation, by Shunsuke Aoyama, has been published since 2018 on the Pash Up! site. The 13th volume was also published on April 4, showcasing the continued growth of this franchise in multiple formats.
