The
mythical franchise “ Yoroiden Samurai Troopers ” ( also known
as “ Ronin Warriors ” ) returns triumphantly with an official sequel
titled “ Yoroi Shinden Samurai Troopers ”, which will be released
in January 2026. The news was revealed as a surprise during the
anniversary event held on the June 11, accompanied by a visual
teaser and promotional video that aroused nostalgia for fans.
A new
era, same samurai values
The
original story, issued between 1988 and 1989 by the studio Sunrise,
followed five young warriors equipped with powerful spiritual armor fighting
against Arago's demonic forces. Now the official sequel will place its plot
in Shinjuku news, with a totally original narrative.
The new
protagonist will be Gai, interpreted by Hiyori Ishibashi,
known for having given voice to Miguel in the Pixar movie “ Coco ” (“
Remember Me ”), a choice that has generated great expectation for his vocal
talent and expressiveness.
First
level staff and stunning teaser
Management
is in charge of Yoichi Fujita (Gintama, Osomatsu-san),
while the script will be written by Shogo Muto, known for his work
in Kamen Rider Build and Thermae Romae. Character
design signs it Yuhei Murota (Love Live!), and the new
armor, called “ Yoroi Gear ”, have been conceptualized by Hideo
Okamoto, responsible for designs in SSSS.DYNAZENON.
The first
teaser shows a devastated city, people on the run, and an unknown threat that
reopens the “ Yōja ” portal. The highlight is Gai's scream: “ Busō!
¡Shakunetsu !! ”, transforming with his armor. The phrase “¡Reborn the
legend! Samurai crossing eras return” closes the advance, making it clear
that this series is not a simple continuation, but an evolution.

It was
confirmed that BANDAI SPIRITS will launch new (
modelable plastics ) based on the series. A visual teaser was also
shared showing the figure of a new Samurai Trooper on his back, standing among
the rubble of the city, transmitting a mixture of melancholy and determination.
