Teaser
that connects to the previous film
This
trailer is a revamped version of the teaser shown at the end of the latest
installment, Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback, released in Japan
on April 18, 2025. In the video, Chihaya Hagiwara, an
assistant inspector of Kanagawa Prefecture, is heard uttering the intriguing
phrase: "What did you mean that day?"
Miyuki
Sawashiro as Chihaya Hagiwara
Through the
official account on X (formerly Twitter), it was confirmed that Miyuki
Sawashiro, recognized for voicing Fujiko Mine in Lupin
the Third, will play Chihaya Hagiwara. The actress will replace the
late Atsuko Tanaka, who left the role after her death in 2024.
In a
message to fans, Sawashiro expressed his admiration for Tanaka and assured that
he will do his best to make the audience grow fond of the character through his
voice. He even revealed that he decided to get his motorcycle license to
connect more with Chihaya, although he joked that he will have to start with
physical training to be able to lift a fallen motorcycle. Finally, he invited
fans to accompany the character both in the series and in future films.
Success
of the previous film
The 28th
film, Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback, was a resounding
success. In its first 90 days in theaters, it reached 10 million
tickets sold and grossed 14.4 billion yen (approximately
$97.9 million). This made it the second highest-grossing film in
the franchise, behind only Detective Conan: The Million-dollar
Pentagram, which achieved 15.8 billion yen ($107 million).
